Nyc Letter 23-24
We are excited to, once again, announce our annual Fine Arts Department trip to NYC! The
tentative dates are Monday, April 8 - Thursday April 11, 2024. We will be taking school buses
to Charlottesville Amtrak station where we will board the train to Penn Station in NYC.
While there, we will see three shows, attend a Broadway performance workshop, visit art
museums, and experience and explore everything else the city has to offer!
A finalized itinerary will be presented at our Parent Informational Meeting which will be
scheduled in October.
The trip will cost approximately $875. This pays for transportation to and from Charlottesville,
Train Tickets, Hotel, 3 shows, admission prices to the workshops/museums and breakfast.
Students will bring additional money for lunch/dinner meals and souvenirs. If this is something
that you want to experience and commit to, we ask for a $250 non-refundable deposit due by
September 15th. A limited number of scholarships may be available based on need through the
Bruin Family Fund. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please email Mr. Woolwine
directly. Fundraising opportunities will also be available to students during the school year.
Once we have commitment deposits from all who are attending, there will be a parent meeting
scheduled in October for questions and more specific information.
Please note, there are a limited number of seats available on the train. Once we reach capacity,
additional students will be placed on a waiting list.
Additional chaperones will be MCPS Employees including, at least one BHS Administrator.
