LESSON 2: THE GLOBAL ECONOMY

LESSON 2

ACTIVITY. THINK COMPREHENSIVELY!

Answer the following questions below and write your answer on the space
provided.

1. How do those global actors affect the global economy in terms of

production process?

Globalization is the process by which people and ideas move around

the world in order to improve their lives. Globalization can be seen as an
increase in connectivity among countries, as well as increased trade between
them. The technological advancements of modern times have made it
possible for individuals from different parts of the world to communicate more
easily than ever before. This allows them to interact with one another on a
regular basis--and this interaction has become more prevalent over time due
to advances in technology such as internet access and cell phones (which
allow us access wherever we go). When these people start interacting with
one another on a regular basis, they learn about what other cultures are like;
this allows them access into new opportunities that may not have existed
before due to lack of contact with others outside their own country or region.
This also allows businesses who want access into markets outside their home
country or continent; if there's demand elsewhere then there will likely be
some kind of supply coming back into these areas too.

2. Name at least five products of the Philippines that is commonly

exported for international use and how does it contribute to the
Philippine economy.

The products that are commonly exported in the Philippines are

integrated circuits, office machine parts and semiconductor, exporting mostly
to China, United States, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. These will help
the Philippine Economy to grow because the products came from the local
exports which leads to increased investment, advanced technology and
import expansion.

3. What have you learned about the topic?

I have learned that the whole idea of the Global Economy came into
play when countries started relaxing the restrictions on trade with people who
did not belong to that particular territory. If there had been restrictions and
dividing people based on their geographic location, and the ruling bodies
defining their territories where people had to obey them, then there wouldn’t
have been any sort of concept called the Global Economy since there may
possibly be no any constraint on with whom one could exchange goods or
services.
LESSON 3: MARKET INTEGRATION

ACTIVITY. ESSAY!

Answer the question in not less than 100 words.

1. HOW CAN A SMALL LOCAL BUSINESS ENTERPRISE COMPETE

AGAINST A GLOBAL CORPORATION?

A small business can compete with a large corporation by taking advantage of

opportunities, being flexible and adaptable, capitalizing on every opportunity to
expand their customer base and improving their product or service.

Be flexible and adaptable when it comes to technology. Technology is

changing rapidly, and it's a key part of your business. Your customers expect to be
able to access the information they need anywhere, anytime. They also want to
know that you are on top of the latest trends in technology and can keep up with
emerging technologies so they can get their work done quickly and efficiently.
Technology is a key part of your competition's business as well. If you don't have an
effective website or app strategy, there's no way for them to differentiate themselves
from local competitors who do have these tools available for use by both customers
and employees alike. Your customers' experience with you will be greatly influenced
by how well-designed your website or app is. If visitors have trouble navigating
through it (or aren't sure what information should be displayed), then chances are
good that they'll go somewhere else rather than stick around with your website or
app.
