I. Preparatory Activities

● Prayer Class, let us all prepare for


the prayer. Please stand, and
let us put ourselves in the (Pupil's will stand and Pray)
holy presence of the Lord, as
we pray.

A. Motivation Class I am going to show you


some artworks of random
artists. Okay, Ma’am.
( The teacher shows
artworks)

Class what have you notice


in the first picture? The first picture is a drawing
using only lines.
Very good.

Now for the second picture? The second picture is an art


consisting of shapes and
colors.
Very good.

B. Discussion The artworks I’ve shown you


are drawings consisting of
lines, shapes, colors but
there is more than that. It
also consist form, value,
space and texture.

Based on what I said. Who


can guess the lesson for
today? Ma’am the lesson for today is

Elements of Arts, in our first


list is Line.

Will you read?


Imari? Line, An element of art
defined by a point moving in
space. Line may be two-or
three-dimensional,
descriptive, implied, or
abstract.

Who can give me an


example of line?
Yes, Johnmark? Ma’am, Horizontal, Vertical,
Oblique, and Curved line.

As you know class lines are


very important on creating an
artwork. Any idea why?
Yes, Renelyn? Because we can’t form
anything without lines.

Next element of art is Shape.


Will you read?
Yes, Kevin? Shape, An element of art that
is two-dimensional, flat, or
limited to height and width.

Who can give example of
shapes?
Yes, Shaira? Square, triangle, circle, etc.
Very good.

Shapes are also important


not only in arts but also in
life. Look around you, the
world is full of shapes.
Right class? Yes, Ma’am.

Next element is Form.


Will you read?
Yes, Rhea? An element of art that is
three-dimensional and
encloses volume; includes
height, width and depth (as in
a cube, a sphere, a pyramid,
or a cylinder). Form may also
be free flowing.

Basically form is how the


artwork will visualize itself.

For example, 3D cube.


Who can draw a 3D cube?
Yes Cristine, draw it on the
board. Okay Ma’am.

Next element is Value.


Will you read?
Yes, Chella? The lightness or darkness of
tones or colors. White is the
lightest value; black is the
darkest. The value halfway
between these extremes is
called middle gray.

Value means artwork may
express lightness or
darkness.

Next element is Space.


Will you read?
Yes, Swine? An element of art by which
positive and negative areas
are defined or a sense of
depth achieved in a work of
Art.
Thank you.
Means the emptiness of a
spot on an artwork. It defines
the sense of depth or “lalim”.

Next element is Color.


This is the element of arts
made up of three properties:
1.Hue: name of color
2.Value: hue’s lightness and
darkness
3.Intensity: quality of
brightness and purity

Give me the three primary


color.
Yes, Lovely? Blue, Red and Yellow.

The element is Texture.


Will you read.
Rosejean? An element of art that refers
to the way things feel, or look
as if they might feel if
touched.

C. Application Class I have here 3 sets of


cardboard and colors. I want
you to make an artwork
applying the elements of art,
and express your feelings
about doing it, then present
the artwork and tell us what
and why did you draw it. So I
will give you 10 minutes for
making it.
