Art Trends

The history of art is as ancient as that of humans on Earth. Art evolved when, for various
reasons, prehistoric individuals began drawing on the cave walls. From then until now, art continues to
grow day by day, every now and then discovering new meanings. Art is not only confined to paintings
and sculptures in the 21st century. Everything from photography to an electronic product can have art
infused into it. These growths translated to what we call art trends, which can be seen in the forms of
artworks seen in today’s society.

These art trends include Street Art. Since the 1990's, street art has been a common style of art.
It has not dropped its success and looks likely to continue into 2021. The broad canvas of the walls and
roads on the streets made accessible to the artists provides them with the best medium for promoting
themselves, gaining them a substantial following as a result of many getting corporate sponsors.
Another example would be Wellness Art. Wellness art has steadily gained both popularity and relevance
within a small community of adherents, something that historically would not be regarded as an art.
With items like a tabletop statue or sculpture, the latest trend is to create a relaxing and peaceful
atmosphere. It has been said that these objects create a therapeutic sensation which lightens the mood
of the owner. Last but not least, we have Maximalism Art. Yes, maximalism art. In 2019/20, a word or
some said a trend, which grew quickly again, Maximalism Art. Maximalism is the aesthetic of excess in
art, as if it were a reaction to minimalism. The use of this type of art blends various colors and patterns
in such a defiant and strong way that it could make people uncomfortable as well.

In anything we do or use, we are in a time when we can also find art and design; from buildings
to an everyday outfit. Subconsciously, in our everyday life, art plays a small but significant role. With the
growing recognition of the appreciation of the arts, and art trends, people are beginning to place more
emphasis on the integration of art into companies. As a result, for arts and design students alike, several
career possibilities have been created that never exits in the past.
