There is no traditional homework in 5 Melanson! However, if you feel that your child needs extra time or practice
feel free to provide support in the following ways:

Class Expectations:
Our classroom will be continually building positive skills for both inside and outside the classroom. All my
classroom expectations will be founded on the HAWK’s Honor Code (Honesty, Acceptance, Well-balanced and
Kindness). We will Co-construct a list of expectations together, decide rewards for following them and agree on
consequences for breaking them. My most important rule is: “to always treat others how you want to be
treated.”

French and English literacy:
Writing: Genres informative, descriptive, narrative, persuasive, poetry; 6 Writing traits; Writing process
Math: Numbers to 1,000,000; Estimation; Multiplication and Division; Fractions and Decimals; Pattern Rules;
Solving Equations; Volume and Capacity; 2D and 3D shapes; Graphing; Probability and Statistics.
Units of inquiry: Emotions and Healthy Relationships; Ancients and Present-day societies and civilizations; First
Nations; Properties of Matter; Force and Simple Machines; Body Systems.
