About Self Learning

Self-Learning introduced by the HSNC University, Mumbai is a concept of

continuous assessment and evaluation. It is a modern way of learning that helps a
person to teach them skills and knowledge that will prove relevant when the
student experience practical world. It has not replaced the instructional learning
process that has been used traditionally instead has become an extra key that will
open the doors of knowledge for everyone who is interested in acquiring it.

Self-learning is an important skill for students as Self learning education develop

independence and ability to progress without reliance on a teacher. It also helps to
solidify the learning. The purpose of Self learning is that students should learn the
topic on their own and present the topic in regular lectures through an interactive
presentation mode. The teacher's role in these evaluative sessions will be that of a
Moderator and Mentor, who will guide and navigate the discussions in the sessions,
and offer concluding remarks, with proper reasoning on the aspects which may
have been missed by the students, in the course of the Self-Learning process. The
presentation in the open class and feedback from the teachers on the presentation
would provide a different perspective on the same topic to the students present in
the class during the presentation.
