COMMUNICATIVE ● To analyse and interpret the short story "Cat in the Rain" by Ernest
OBJECTIVE

TIMELINE / SESSION ● Warm-up: The students will participate in a word-guessing game related to the story's
MANAGEMENT theme. They will have to guess the word letter by letter. After the game, I will facilitate
a discussion to elicit from the students their interpretations of the story's intention
based on the words they were able to guess.

● Activity 1: Students will receive some information about the author and then be
presented with statements about the story, some of which are true and others false.
Following this, they will watch a short film based on the story while trying to determine
which statements are true or false. Finally, they will express their opinions.

● Activity 2: Students will read the story either individually or in groups to examine
whether some of the previous hypotheses are correct or incorrect. They will then
engage in discussions to assert, correct, or reformulate their hypotheses.

● Activity 3: To assess the students' comprehension, a round of questions related to the
story's theme will be conducted.
