Evolution of Media Movie

Ever since COVID 19 pandemic occurred, people are trying to search for an alternative for the

traditional theaters. However, a study was done before this pandemic in which people were asked

if they will watch a new rental movie at home or in a movie theater—a whopping 70 percent of

people selected home (Vary, 2020). An easy reason for people that prefer movies to watch at

home is that they can pause, forward, and rewind the movie anytime. Furthermore, people can

also stop and look for another alternative while watching it at home. On the other hand, if an

individual leaves the theater, they can miss some parts of the movie.

The fundamental difference between watching a movie or listening to a radio is that watching

movies or television allows viewers to back up the stories with visual cues. Even if dialogues fail

to interest viewers, the special effects can keep the viewer watching (Wendy, 2020). On the other

hand, radio cannot fall back on visual effects to keep the listeners engaged. Hence, radio

presenters have to become masters of creating a hall of imagination that engages listeners.

There have been many movies that provide a positive message, but one of the best movies, in my

opinion, is Forrest Gump. An autistic child becomes a college football star, fights the Vietnam

war, and steers a shrimp boat (Cakmak, 2019). He has left an impression on people since Forrest

never considered himself disadvantaged. A movie with a negative message is Flight Club which

is one of the most-watched films. It has a horrible message because it makes people act in a

certain way because of their gender. A movie should not let people think that they can let their

behavior be dictated by gender.
