Idea of god during Thomas Aquinas time

was accepted as a self evident truth which is a matter of faith . but he felt that there should be
a possibility to prove god existence using reason and certainty. he propose a way and he
believe that he can do it. he build all of his idea based on Aristotle and Greeks philosophy .
according to him reason is important and through it we can prove the existence of god. he took
the Greek methodologies and applied them into Christian thought . he proceeds by stating
some objection to prove his perspective. self-evident can take 2 form . self evidence cannot be
known in nature because what is the nature of god ?maybe it s beyond us the only way to
know it is to see the cause and effect the cause which god its effect on us . this the first time
that we see the fusion of philosophy in Christian religion .
Second point if no more self-evident can we prove the existence of god ? to mention that the
church during that time was considering only self evident truth of god . through the effect god
can be known . can be proven not by touching him or seeing but through the effect because
god is the cause and everything found in this world is the effect of this cause which is god . he
used logical deduction and reasoning to prove god existence and faith

In the third article he is using Aristotle logic . he believe that can be proved from his effect .
according to some people god do not exist . one of the paradox of monotheism is about evil ,
does evil exist and how god allows it even in the sense if anything happen for a person
( earthquake ) .he goes to the five ways in proving the existence of god . god is the first mover ,
immobile ( outside space and time ) and nothing can move him because god is the cause and
god is the mover of everything in this world because nothing is the cause of his own motion or
the cause of his own movement therefore something prior should be there , like a billard board
tapping another . the second way there no way to have an infinitne number of cause . there a
cause that is the cause of everything the the effect create by god become the cause of another
effect . , the first person who thought about this is called paramenigus who stated : either we
go to infinity and we don’t stop so there no god and no first mover . second possibility is we
have to stop sometime at that time we discover that in this case theres no primordial motion
second there is a one entity that cause all the motion, if nothing is the presence of own
existence so nothing can ever come into the existence from nothing the self evident thruth
that nobody can question ( individual from the external world ) . everything brought to
existence must come from something proper either we can go to inifinity and see there and
wwe will find that god is the uncaused cause
since it cannot to an infite cause and effect there must a first cause which is called god . since a
cause and effect are linked logically speaking it a logical deduction there must be a start in it the
Greek did. t called they just called it the first cause on the other hand Christians called it god .
since god omnipotent . there should be a beginning at first . the third one for existence there
should be. A necessary condition . and god is the necessity condition . we should go back to
infinity and its linked to the first cause . so god is the first necessity and the first cause . and he
the only one not brought into existence with a necessary condition . for example some believe
that the bigbang is the necessary condition or the cause . so he told that if people accept the
first cause and the first necessary condition why you don’t call it god which is the efficient cause
the fourth wat . we aggree that there good and evil and evil is the lesser form of goodness
thomas acqinas is talking and mentioning gradation and scale so we can agree on goodness
gradation or scale the high one or highest level of goodness it can be god . there must be a
cause for all being for goodness and this is god

who work as clock , look at its perfection , the world must have a purpose these creature must
have purpose there no way that they came from nothing something is evidently designed it is
not possible that by error or randomly but its is deliberately made by intelligent being

Darwin . the human species the percentage for controllong the world is small according to
Darwin but for a monotheist it is god will . Darwin in the orginin of species denies that species
are distinct( one thing cannot be the other ) , immutable and creations , Darwin denies what it
is stated in the bibles that species are created by god are distinct and immutable . there must
be a designer of this world and intelligent designer of this world .
