One of the typefaces I like the most is Avenir. I like how simple and neat it looks like. It
is used mostly by corporate brands. It is flexible which can be used for different purposes
because of the various weights it possesses. The man behind this is Adrian Fruitger, a Swiss type
designer. He described it as “the hardest typeface I have worked on in my life”. His hard truly
paid off as many famous brands use this such as Best Buy, Bloomberg Television, AOL, AT&T,
BBC News, and Black & Decker.

Helvetica is considered as the most widely used typeface. It is used for logos, posters, and
signages. Its strong yet classy look is notable. I usually use this for texts or words that needs
emphasis. This can catch the attention of the readers because of its impassive style. Eduard
Hoffman created this typeface in mid-1950s. The diversity of Helvetica is present in different
brands from different industries. Nestlé – an international food and drink company, BMW – a
luxury car brand, Target – a retailer company, and WhatsApp – a messaging platform all use the
same font. They vary in purpose and audience yet they all use the same typeface.
My most favorite typeface is Century Gothic which as widely used as the previous ones I
have mentioned. I like how sleek and readable this typeface is. This is my go-to whenever I
create documents especially for making reviewers. It makes me understand texts easily and its
readability is the main factor why I like it. I think that this needs more recognition and
appreciation. In most cases, this is mixed and matched with typefaces that have much more
weight and width. Century Gothic is perfect for sub-texts for it highlights the text that uses a
stronger typeface or font.
