SPECIAL TERMS AND CONDITION

1. The foundation of OHR considered in the tender document is tentative. For the
purpose of ascertaining actual foundation type, Geotechnical investigation shall be
conducted and SBC shall be found out at required depths at location of OHR by the
agency conforming to relevant IS Code through the agencies approved by the
Superintending Engineer, Western Circle, PHE Dte.

2. Upon submission of soil test report to the Engineer-in-Charge, the same shall be used
by the Planning Circle-II, PHED for undertaking structural design & drawing of
appropriate foundation. The construction OHR has to be carried out strictly as per the
detailed design and drawing issued by the Planning Circle-II, PHE Dte.

3. The Construction of OHR and Laying of Distribution System are to be executed

simultaneously and proportionately. Payment will be released following the under
noted schedule:

Upto top of 1st bracing 30 %
Upto bottom of Heal Beam 50 %
Upto Top Dome & other concrete works 80 %
Commissioning of OHR 100 %

4. The uPVC/HDPE pipes and specials are to be tested from CIPET (Bhubaneswar/
Haldia/Chennai). Pipes of each diameter have to be tested after its delivery at site.
Test pieces will be drawn by the officers of Concerned Division, PHE Dte. and will be
sent to CIPET for testing. Charge of testing, carriage of test pieces to the testing
laboratory will be borne by the contactor. If any fault is detected in test report all the
pipes of the same batch will be rejected and that is to be replaced by good quality
pipes. No extra cost will be provided for the same.

5. Whole pipeline network is to be tested hydraulically at maximum pressure as

recommended in concern IS code. Pipeline network is also to be tested for its
continuity. Until these tests are performed 15% of cost of pipeline will be kept hold.
Water for these testing will be arranged by the contractor at his / her own cost.

6. During claim of payment for the portion between heel beam to completion of OHR,
the agency have to perform water tightness test. Until this test is performed 10% of the
cost of OHR will be kept hold. Water to be required for the test is to be arranged by
the agency at his / her own cost.
