Write no more than 150 words for the summary paragraph, and no more than 150

words for the personal response paragraph about Reading 2 'Living Outside the Box'
Summary paragraph:
The author in the paragraph thought that being TV-free would help her to have more
time to do all the things that she wanted to, so she did a test to see if she could avoid
watching evening TV for one winter. At first, she thought it would be lonely, but then she
starts to feel positive changes. She read lots of books, had more time to read and sleep, did
volunteer work more often, and enjoyed quiet time. After all, she found that she had crossed
the line from experiment to lifestyle and she really enjoyed this new one. Nothing is certain
about the future, she doesn't even know how long this lifestyle will last, but there is one
thing that is certain she would know how to balance time and space to do things.
Personal response:
In today's modern life, I think it's really hard for me to accomplish all the things I
want to do in one day. Sometimes I wish a day will have more than 24 hours. These days,
we rely so much on technology. It would be better if I could get rid of spending too much
time watching phones or TV and spending more time on useful activities. I agree with the
author's test and really appreciate her effort to moderate the unuseful habits and improve her
life. What surprised me the most was that changing a habit was very difficult, but she did it
easily. It was not only an experiment but also became a lifestyle. Better late than never, we
should take the first step to change our bad habits, spend more time caring for our souls and
bodies by reducing TV and phone usage time and getting more outdoor activities.
