Job Summary

The Systems Administrator assists with the administration of the entire server infrastructure at all
company data centers, call centers and co-location facilities. Core areas of job responsibilities
include: Linux administration (Oracle, Redhat and CentOS), Oracle OVM/OVS administration,
NetApp Storage administration, PKI/asymmetric and symmetric key encryption administration and
SFTP server administration.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and be willing to take ownership of any
task/project and see it to compellation.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Assist in the installation, configuration, administration, and system security of a multi-platform


environment which includes Linux (primarily OEL, Redhat and CentOS) and Oracle
OVM/OVS.
 Adhere to strong systems administration techniques and procedures.
 Establish and maintain best practices and procedures for patch management, virus
management, vulnerability management, and operating system improvements.
 Analyze and improve system performance.
 Troubleshoot system failures and resolve. Identify and document permanent fixes.
 Coordinate/consult with application development and database administrator staff to profile
application needs and provide the appropriate environment(s) needed for stability and
performance.
 Setup and maintain SFTP to facilitate secure transfers to clients.
 Serve as a principle key custodian for enterprise encryption technologies.
 Communicate issues effectively to team members and management.
 Provide professional, courteous customer service.
 Provide incident management, prioritization, and resolution of problems.
 Develop, update and audit server documentation.
 Participate in documenting policies and procedures.
 Provide team members with detailed platform overview training and supporting
documentation for operational, configuration, or other procedural purposes.
 Administer backup and disaster recovery solutions for systems.
 Attend status calls when requested and provides detailed technical support.
 Respond to server and service emergencies during and after work hours.
 Delegate resolution of help tickets derived from support desk.
 Support design efforts of all infrastructure implementation and migrations.
 Act as point of contact between support portal teams for server issues.
 Assist in providing the highest level of technical support for the entire enterprise.
 Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business. 

Required Qualifications

 5+ years of professional experience in Systems Administration, Virtualization, and Storage


technologies on various Linux platforms.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 Knowledge of Linux operating systems.


 Expert knowledge in supporting systems running Oracle databases.
 Intermediate knowledge of Windows operating systems.
 Knowledge of NetApp storage disk pools and expanding storage in various guest operating
systems.
 Knowledge of HP ProLiant servers.
 Knowledge of tape and disk-based backup technologies (Veeam/Backup Exec).
 Knowledge of server security and compliance requirements.
 Knowledge of scripting languages and server automation technologies.
 Knowledge of provisioning, patching, troubleshooting, monitoring and securing servers.
 Knowledge of virtual server performance tuning, and management of server resources
between Virtual Machines.
 Some knowledge of telecommunications systems (VoIP).
 Skill in creating detailed-driven documentation (e.g., server environments, storage arrays,
security reports).
 Skill and ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing, including with
non-technical audiences.
 Skills in managing multiple short-term & long-term projects simultaneously.
 Skill in self-directing job tasks, projects, and managing time accordingly.
 Skill in training other associates in a positive, knowledge-sharing manner.
 Must be fluent in English
