Introduction
Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is a
statistical tool used to compare
means between two or more groups.
It is used to test the hypothesis that
the means of two or more populations
are equal. ANOVA is a powerful tool
that can be used in many different
fields, including medicine,
engineering, and social sciences.
Types of ANOVA
There are three types of ANOVA: One-
Way ANOVA, Two-Way ANOVA, and
Repeated Measures ANOVA. One-Way
ANOVA is used when there is only one
independent variable, Two-Way ANOVA
is used when there are two
independent variables, and Repeated
Measures ANOVA is used when the
same subjects are tested multiple
times.
Assumptions of ANOVA
There are several assumptions that
must be met for ANOVA to be valid.
These include normality,
homogeneity of variance, and
independence. Normality assumes
that the data is normally
distributed, homogeneity of
variance assumes that the variance
is equal across all groups, and
independence assumes that the
observations are independent of
each other.
