READINGS IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY

Lesson 1: Emilian Philosopy, Vision, Mision, Core Values, Institutional


Objectives, Quality Policy and Quality Objectives

Learning Objectives:
● State Emilian philosophy, vision, mission;
● Explain the meaning of Emilian core values; and
● Demonstrate understanding of the Emilian institutional objectives, quality
policy, and quality objectives

Reading in Philippine History will tackle traditional topics in history and other
interdisciplinary themes that will deepen and broaden your understanding of the
Philippines in terms of:
● Geopolitical History - focuses on the relationship between diplomatic history
and political authority in regard to geographic space.
● Economic History - the study of nation’s past history with relation to
economics, labor, and business in particular.
● Cultural History - a history that study one or more historical world cultures as
a whole in order to compare them to others and to analyze the causes that
are thought to be at play in terms of cultural growth, development, fruition, and
decay.
● Social History - history that concentrates upon the social, economic, and
cultural institutions of a people.
● Scientific History - studying the creation and growth of systematic knowledge.
● Religious History - study of the origin of the belief systems and the religious
organizations that support them.

Emilian Philosophy - Emilio Aguinaldo College is a private, non-sectarian, co-
