Hidden • Identify and explain the various conflicts (Character VS Self, Character VS
Figures Character, Character VS Nature, Character VS Society)
• Characterization/ Character sketch
• Compare and contrast two characters in terms of differences and similarities in
their characters
• Explain how author develops character voice(s) through actions, words, and plot
design
• Explain how a character responds in situations and what does that say about their
beliefs, assumptions, values, principles and thought process
• Explain how the characters undergo changes as the story takes turns and twists
• Identify and explain how author’s own feelings and thoughts may be seen
• Recognise connotations of words
• Relate character’s responses to personal experience
• Identify rhetorical devices used to argue, persuade, lead or sway (eg; Parallelism,
Hypophora, Repetition, Anti-thesis, Figurative Speech, Juxtaposition, Allusion,
Varied Sentence Length, Tricolon and Polysyndeton)
