A Healthy Immune System Discussion.

Supporting a healthy immune system is not a simple task since it more than mixing

vitamins and minerals in our diets. However, some of the daily habits that can help support a

healthy immune system include, first, daily exercise to ensure one is healthy and support a

healthy immune system. Second, eating healthy diets throughout the day. One can do this by

eating more vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats in different

meals of the day. Third, keep the body hydrated. Mayo clinic suggests that one should drink at

least six to eight glasses of water per day to remain healthy, which also support a healthy

immune system. Fourth, get plenty of sleep because it improves the immune system’s

homeostasis. Fifth, reduce the amount of alcohol consumed in a day because to much alcohol

weaken the immune system. Sixth, reduce the number of times one smokes in a day because

smoking makes the body less successful at fighting disease, and increases the risk for immune

system problems.

Other than these daily habits, one should also ensure the cardiovascular system is

functioning properly to support a healthy immune system. The cardiovascular system is made up

of the heart, blood vessels and blood. It plays important roles for the human body to function

well, such as transporting nutrients, oxygen and hormones to cells, and regulating body

temperature. It also supports a healthy immune system by protection the body through the white

blood cells, antibodies and complement proteins. The cardiovascular allow the immune cells to

interact with endothelial cells, cardiac stromal cells and cardiomyocytes, to support a healthy

immune system.

There are also many healthcare strategies or interventions that can boost the function of the

immune system. For instance, staying up-to-date on the vaccines recommended by practitioners.

For example, everyone should have received the Covid-19 vaccine by now as recommended by

World Health Organization to boost immune system and reduce chances of contacting the virus.

Another example of healthcare strategy is minimizing stress. Rohleder (2019) suggests that

people need to understand how chronic stress affects their health and functionality of their

immune system. Therefore, stress management is very important in maintaining a healthy state

considering that stress is different for everyone. To mitigate its effects in life, one should be

active, be busy, and always have friends who can listen and help.
