SERVICE CONDUCT RULE

 Every Railway servant shall

 Maintain devotion to duty.
 Maintain absolute integrity.
 Do nothing which is unbecoming of a Railway servant or Govt. servant.

 Every Railway Servant should perform in his best judgment except under direction of
superior – written order / confirmatory orders.

 No Railway servant shall used its position or influence directly or indirectly to ensure
employment for any member of its family in any company or farm.

 No Railway servant, shall be a member of, or shall assist, any organization associated with
political activities.

 No Railway servant shall be a member of a union or association which is not in the interest of
sovereignty and integrity of India.

 No Railway servant shall engage himself or participate in any demonstration which is

prejudicial to the interest of sovereignty and integrity of India.

 No Railway servant shall participate in editing or managing newspapers periodical etc. not
broadcast on Radio or T V channels without previous permission by the govt.

 No Railway servant shall, except with prior sanction of the govt., give evidence in
connection with any enquiry conducted by any person or any committee or any court.

 No Railway servant shall communicate directly or indirectly any official document or

information to anybody to whom he is not authorized.

 No Railway servant, except prior permission of the govt., engage himself directly or
indirectly in any business for undertaking any other employment.

 Every Railway servant on his first appointment in the railway service submit appropriation
return of his assets and liabilities.

 No Railway servant shall speculate in any stock or share market or other investment.

 No Railway servant, whose wife is alive, can marry without obtaining the permission of the
Govt.

 No female Railway servant shall marry any person, whose wife is alive, without obtaining
permission of the Govt.

 No Railway servant shall indulge in sexual harassment of any women at her workplace either
physically or in any other means.

 No Railway Servant shall consume intoxicated drink or drug at his work place or public
place.

 No Railway Servant shall sublet, lease or allows another person in his allotted
accommodation.
 No Railway Servant shall give or take dowry.
