(Ethnic Dance)
MECHANICS/GUIDELINES
A. Every Grade/Year Level from Junior High to College is required to have an entry.

B. The Competition is categorized into Three: (1) Junior High Regular Category, (2) Senior High Category.
(3) College Category. Collaboration of classes/strand must strictly be followed.

C. T h e d a n c e p i e c e f o r e a c h c o n t i n g e n t i s l e f t t o t h e i r o w n i n t e r p r e t a t i o n   o f w h a t i s
r e l e v a n t t o t h e Ethnic dance they represent.

D. Each contingent must be composed of 30-50 members (including the props men & musician; excluding
the Bb/Mutya/Reyna ng. B.E.S.T. Contestants). Members are prohibited to join the Sabayang Pagbigkas
and vice versa. Contingent will be deducted 0.5 on the over-all score per student (Lacking or Exceeding
No. of population)

E. Every contingent must provide an exact 2-minute STORY LINE, as a gap during the set-up/entrance of
every groups.

F. The performance shall be limited from Three (3) to Six (6) minutes only. The 2-minute story line will
start as soon as the participants of a contingent are on the performance area and will be given Thirty (30)
seconds period for the set down/pack-up. The performance time will start as soon as the preparation time
elapses or as soon as the contingent is ready. The following are the point-deduction for every exceeding
time on the over-all score.
1 pt. – 1-5 secs., 2 pts. – 6, 10 secs. & 3 pts. – 11 & up secs.

G. The audio CD/ Flash drive must be submitted to the committee (T. Dave) on August 22, 2023. A final
audio CD/Flash drive must be submitted on August 22, 2023. Failure to comply the final music will be
deducted 10 points from the total score

H. The contingents are prohibited from performing movements that unduly endanger the safety of
dancers, especially children.

I. The use of live animal sacrifices and deadly weapons, flammable materials such as  fire, fireworks
or pyrotechnics is strictly  prohibited. A five (5) point deduction shall be imposed against any
contingent who violates the rules. Safety must be observed in the execution of  presentations.
Injury caused by dance routines will be the r e s p o n s i b i l i t y   o f   t h e   a d v i s e r .

J. TRAINER or paid choreographer is allowed in the competition.

K. If there is no entry, a class will pay P 6,000.00 in addition for the prizes.

L. Rules are Rules!

M. The decision of the judges is final and not appealable.
