The goal of the project is to make children from low-income families
experience the joy of Christmas while also bringing cheer to the holiday
season through "gift-giving to the children." Additionally, it aims to foster a
culture of true generosity and total giving where people are inspired to donate
their resources to the less fortunate.
II. Introduction
Genuine happiness comes from giving. Along the way, helping others helps
you evaluate who you are. Everyone should be grateful for the opportunity
to help others since it teaches them how to respond to people who are in
need.
Understanding the compassion spirit, sharing what we have, and getting rid
of the selfishness that is ingrained in us really benefits everyone. It is the
application of the old saying “there is more happiness in giving than
receiving”.
The NSTP staff members and students who took part in the program entitled
"Naimpuswan a Serbisyo para Kadagiti Agtutubo at San Jose Leet
Integrated School" felt satisfied to see those children wearing a big smile
plastered in their faces. All of their efforts, sacrifices, and exhaustion were
not in vain.

III. Narrative Report
As portion of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Department, the
Student Officers as well as the NSTP Faculty Members of Urdaneta City
University conducted a Community Outreach Program with a theme
“Naimpuswan a Serbisyo para Kadagiti Agtutubo” to the students of San
Jose Leet Inteagrated School for them to feel the love and essence of
Christmas through a gift-giving activity.
Simple plan was organized by responsible students and faculty members of
the NSTP department headed by Dr. Mary Ruth P. Cinchez. Faculty
members and students brought donations including: clothes, vegetables,
slippers and others. They worked as one for the success of the activity.
The program started with the Invocation led by Rev. Saturnino D. Garabiles,
University Chaplain, and right after was the Flag Ceremony administered by
the SJLIS Faculty Members. It is followed by a welcome remark from the
accountable and responsible School Principal of San Jose Leet Integrated
School Mrs. Doris S. Sandoy. She opened the activity and thanks everyone
especially the Urdaneta City University for their presence, sacrifices, effort
and sharing their time and extending their hands to make the children happy
this season of giving. UCU Director for External Affairs and Linkages, Dr.
Sonny Soriano also gave her Inspirational talk in the activity. The activity was
conducted in coordination with Dr. Soriano, and all the Faculty Members of
SJLIS headed by the School Principal. Mrs. Doris S. Sandoy. SJLIS have
been long-time partners in various initiatives of Urdaneta City University
through extension services.

Right after the message, the NSTP Instructors and Staff entertains the
parents, children, visitors and the teaching staff with their intermission
number. The officers of the NSTP Department which is the Young People
Natures Lovers Club also added an entertainment to the program as they
moved and grooved in their Christmas dance presentation. Also, to make the
activity more memorable to the community Hon. Board Member Louie Sison
entertained the students, parents and all the teaching staff in his talent
number as he sings a special song to the program.
A goods that was being packed by the NSTP Department were given to the
students of SJLIS as Christmas is for children and it’s a great way to spread
joy and cheer through the simple gift-giving activity.
The accomplished extension activity conducted by the NSTP contributes to
Sustainable Cities and Communities and Quality Education. Furthermore,
NSTP provided clothes donated by the University employees to support
students and encouraged the school that they are free to request other
programs or extension activities that can benefit the growth and development
of the teachers and learners.
