BELLE
2021

Belle is a Japanese animated science fantasy movie film literally named as the “The Dragon and
The Freckled Princess” which dedicatedly inspired by a well-known Disney fairytale Beauty and the
Beast. The central concept of Belle, which is inspired by Beauty and the Beast, is simply one aspect of the
character. The twin layer of fantasy (in which Belle is the beauty and The Dragon is the hunted beast) and
reality further complicates the beauty/beast tale (where Suzu is a timid, insecure schoolgirl and Kei is an
abused adolescent). The storylines that Belle follows include Suzu's voice loss, which she later regained,
her complicated relationship with fame, her crush on Shinobu at home, her attempts to unite the popular
girl and the athletic classmate, her intervention in Kei's traumatic home life, and Suzu's growing
estrangement from her father.

The way Belle combines its futuristic fantasy ideas with our contemporary digital realities is
where it really stands out. Early representations of virtual worlds usually portrayed them as a distinct
setting that seldom interacted with the outside world, a "hidden life" that users led that was incredibly
different from their true lives. Our virtual existence is dominated by social media, live streaming, and
parasocial contacts, all of which are now widely acknowledged as being a part of our "real" lives as
technology advances, therefore we've mostly found it to be untrue. Hence, in the world of U, social media
is deeply linked with entertainment, with messages flying as quickly and wildly around the computer-
generated cities as its avatars do. The residents of U are reported to be a wonderfully broad mix of ages
and races, as evidenced by their messages and videos, so it's not simply something "the youngsters" are
into. Even though, there is still a perception that this place is more important to a certain generation:
In the end, it will be the other people in her real life that will push her to do what she needs to
do to save the Dragon. The fantasy elements take a back seat to the fact that there are real people behind
each avatar, and just as the service creates a look for them based on their personality, so are their
problems in U are just reflections of their real-life situations. And in that case, it won’t be Belle who can
save the day, but an ordinary girl named Suzu Naito.
As for who I am, I am belle. In which I’m afraid to face traumatic events occurred in my life that
reduced my certainty to be well and happy. We both seek people to over hear our feelings by social media
and other entertainment apps and readings. Where I overly indulged myself to be acquainted by virtual
friends rather than the people who cares for me in reality, and yet I only understood it by this movie that
enlightens me that the world is beautiful, and accepting your own scars is beautiful. Whether I’m afraid or
lonely to push forward, I have people and family to wait for my healing and hear their silent motivations.
They cared for me, and they let me take my time. As the years passed by, it’s now 2023 I watch this
movie 2021 and still a memorable movie for me.

Belle anime soundtrack

This is one of the songs of the movie which belle started to sing when her popularity stared to
increased. it was dedicated for her mother who died to rescue a kid from a raging water of the river bank.
She solidifies her sadness and longing for her mother and yet don’t understand her mother’s decision in
saving the child. Soon after, she realizes that she’s like her mother who will do anything to save a person.

I am no hero, nor a feature of a hero. I am the one who is saved by a hero, which make me
wonder; hero’s want to save life for a cause. They are wounded and braved enough to conquer it, maybe it
takes them a hundred of sacrifices to be on what they are now. And as one of the people who is saved by
that hero, I am determined to be like Him. And that story goes as to how heroes are made, that they are
also the one that is saved.

What did I use?

I watched the movie on phone (Samsung a20) made by the company of Samsung and on an
application named “bili bili” which is an anime app where you can watch anime movies and anime series.
I have been using this app for 4 years and still accurate for anime watching.

What a gain from this.

Ever since, I’ve used the technology and the entertainments on it, I became more open despite
being hideous and anonymously write a story on Wattpad; I can freely communicate with another people
and make some friends. Emotionally, it has a good effect on me. Normally people would say, being
addicted to such entertainments wasn’t good. As for me, it helps me to overcome depression, I made
friends to people that I don’t see personally but cheers me to live a good life and be happy. This simple
facts maybe shallow to other people, but it saves me.
