Harnessing the Power of Youth of India.

For every nation, the power of youth they have plays an important role in the developmental journey
of the country. As per the State of the Population Report released by UNFPA, India will be the most
populous country by the middle of this year. And we will have 68% of the population in the age group
of 15-64. This youth power can help India in achieving the goals of Amrit Kaal.

However, mere availability of the youth power will not suffice. The young population will have to be
skilled in advanced technologies along with providing soft skills. It can help in harnessing the youth
population in the process of industrial development. Better employment opportunities will help in
growing income of the youth, it will ensure improved lifestyle. Since, women constitute half of the
population it is necessary that women education and skilling to be a focus area so that they can
contribute equally.

To harness the youth power efficiently in a sustainable manner, there shall be a focus on improving
health of the youth. The young population shall also be trained on practices to be followed to ensure
sustainable development. This all can ensure that India to harness it’s youth power to progress on
developmental path.
