W = Fd cos  ; W = Fd (if  = 0 
where:
F : force

IMPULSE
- Impulse is the product of force and the time it acts

I = Ft
MOMENTUM
Momentum is the product of the mass and the velocity of
the body

P = mv
IMPULSE-MOMENTUM THEOREM
- Impulse is equal to the change in momentum

𝐼 = ∆𝑃

B. 5.6x10^2 N D. – 5.6x10^2 N
THE LAW OF CONSERVATION OF MOMENTUM

When two bodies of masses m1 and m2 collide, the total momentum

before impact is equal to the total momentum after impact

Pbefore impact = Pafter impact

 m1v1  m 2 v 2 =  m1v1  m 2 v 2
coefficient of restitution
The coefficient of restitution (COR), also denoted by (e), is the ratio of
the final to initial relative velocity between two objects after they
collide. It normally ranges from 0 to 1 where 1 would be a perfectly
elastic collision.
