1. Given two vectors a = i + mj + 2k and b = mi + 2mj − k where m is a scalar.

a) If vectors a and b have the same magnitude, determine the values of m.

(a) If fifteen sachets are randomly selected, find the probability that between six and
eight weigh within 2 gm of the mean. [3 marks]
(b) Determine the sample size, n such that the probability that none of the sachet
weighs within 2 gm of the mean is 0.0894. [3 marks]
(c) If 150 sachets are randomly selected, approximate the probability that between 60
and 90 sachets weigh within 2 gm of the mean. [5 marks]
