Action
Specific legal arguments International labour organization has made many convention and recommendation for the employer
to protect their workers from the noise hazards. Every organisation is fully bounded to these

C148 - Working Environment (Air Pollution, Noise and Vibration) Convention, 1977 (No. 148).
States that National laws or regulations shall prescribe that measures be taken for the prevention
and control of, and protection against, occupational hazards in the working environment due to air

Consideration of likelihood AND severity The likelihood associated with this hazard will be considered as high because the workers were
working in the noisy areas for a long period of time and they were exposed to high pitch noise
generated from the machines like conveyers and grinding machines so there were many chances
for the workers to get many health problems related to the noise hazard. The current control
measures were also ineffective to protect the workers from getting harm.
When considering the severity, I set 4 categories:
minimal: no injury or damage occurred
minor: injury requiring first-aid and/or slight damage caused to plant/equipment/buildings
major: injury requiring hospital treatment/stay and/or significant damage
caused to plant/equipment/buildings
