REFLECTION/JOURNAL ENTRY
 
Date: March 13, 2023 

Today's lesson provided a wonderful opportunity for me to put


my learner-centered teaching philosophy into practice. My main goal
as a teacher is to create a friendly, empowering learning environment
that caters to the unique needs and passions of each of my students.
By developing lesson plans and community service projects that place
a strong emphasis on student engagement, collaboration, and self-
discovery, I hope to foster a lifelong love of learning in my students
and provide them with the tools they need to take control of their
education. I want to reflect on how I applied this philosophy to my
lesson today and the impressions it made on my students in this entry
of my journal.
The group presentations were a high point of the lesson. Each
team confidently presented the results of their research, engaged their
peers in deliberative debate, and suggested workable solutions to the
problems that they had identified. It was clear that the students had
grown more knowledgeable about the issues involved and were
genuinely interested in their subjects. My faith in the efficacy of
learner-centered teaching was strengthened by seeing their zeal and
the degree of interest they demonstrated throughout the presentations.
I observed a number of advantageous results by incorporating
student choice, group work, and practical applications. A sense of
ownership and responsibility for their own learning was firstly
developed by the students. They took the initiative, were highly
intrinsically motivated, and were actively engaged throughout the
lesson. The second is that the process is cooperative.
