Learners demonstrate basic understanding in evaluating functions.
Performance Standard:
Learners demonstrate basic skill in simplifying the functions.
B. Learning Competencies:
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
Knowledge: Evaluate the functions.
Skill: Simplify the functions.
Attitude: Show critical thinking skills in evaluating functions.

Preliminary Activities
1. Greetings
The teacher will greet the learners.
The learners will greet their teacher.
2. Prayer
The teacher will assign someone to
lead the prayer. He or she will lead the prayer.

3. Checking of Attendance
The teacher will let the learners to
sit down then she will ask the
secretary of the class who among
his/her classmates were absent
today. None Ma’am

4. Reminding of Rules
The teacher reminds the class
what are the two rules inside the
classroom.
1. One Mouth Rule
The students listen to their teacher.
A. Activity
The teacher will divide the class into
four for a group activity entitled
”Complete the word”. Each group will
be given activity sheets in which they
will complete a word “function”. The
 group who get the correct answer will
be the winner. You have only 2
minutes to complete the activity.

B. Analysis
The teacher will present first the
objectives to be learned.
 Evaluate the function.
 Simplify the function.
 Show critical thinking skills in
simplifying the function.
The teacher will present different
examples for the discussion.
The students will listen to their teacher’s
discussion and participate interactively.
C. Abstraction:
The teacher will ask the students about
what they have learned from the
discussion using the “What I have
Learned Activity”. The teacher will give
the learners 2 minutes to finish their
work.
They will write what they have learned
from the lesson.
D. Application
The teacher will give an individual
activity entitled “Find X”

The students will answer their activity.

E. Assignment:
The teacher will give an assignment.

The students will write their assignment.
