frightening

action movie /ˈækʃn muːvi/

a genre of movie with a fast-moving plot (情节),
usually containing scenes of violence

e.g. I like watching action movies.

pick (somebody) up /pɪk//ʌp/

when you pick up someone or something that is
waiting to be collected, you go to the place where
they are and take them away, often in a car

e.g. I will drive to the airport tomorrow to pick you up.

Role-play the dialog with your teacher twice, and learn the highlighted expressions by heart.

Betty: I wanted to know if you would like to go to the movies with me.

Sarah : Neither. I like action movies. Can we see “Skyfall”?
Betty: Sure, I love action movies. I will pick you up at 7 p.m.
