DILG Circular No. 2018-28 dated October 10, 2018 - Revised Guidelines in the Establishment of the Profiles of the Elective and Appointive Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Officials through the Barangay Officials Profiling System (BOPS); 2. DILG Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2020-117 dated September 4, 2020 - Guidelines in the Establishment of the Barangay Profile System (BPS) Module under the BIS; and 3. Advisory dated March 3, 2023 — Reiteration re: Updating of Profiles of Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Officials through the BIS. INFORMATIONIUPDATES 1. In anticipation of the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections on October 30, 2023, as provided under Republic Act No. 11935, this level is preparing correspondences and other related issuances foreseeing the numerous requests from legislators and executives on data related to barangays and barangay officials, as inputs in the formulation of policies and decision-making processes. This is also in preparation for the archiving of the database generated from the BIS by the end of the 2018- 2023 term. 2. On March 3, 2023, this level issued an Advisory reiterating the updating of Profiles of Barangay and SK officials through the BIS. However, we have Noticed that there are still barangays with incomplete and/or outdated data on elective and appointive Barangay and SK officials in the BIS-BOPS module, specifically on the data on honorarium. There are also barangays with no encoded data on other appointive barangay officials. “‘Matino, Mahusay at Maaasahan” ‘Trunkline No. 8876-34-543. Further, the demographic information report, which was generated from the BIS-BPS module, shows that only 5 out of 17 regions have encoded and/or updated the demographic information of barangays, for the 1st semester of 2023. Pursuant to DILG MC No. 2020-117, this shall be updated on a semestral basis.
