ONLINE SELLERS IN PULOT CENTER, SOFRONIO ESPAÑOLA, PALAWAN

This study entitled “THE IMPACT OF SLOW INTERNET CONNECTION TO THE


ONLINE SELLERS IN PULOT CENTER, SOFRONIO ESPAÑOLA, PALAWAN” was
conducted on March 2023 at Pulot Center, Sofronio Española, Palawan. This study seek to
determine if the slow internet connection has effect to the online sellers income, uploading of
product, and time of delivery.

Their were twenty(20) respondents which are composed of males and females in Pulot
Center, Sofronio Española, Palawan.

The study was laid out in descriptive design where researcher formulated questionnaire
through Likert scale. By collecting answer received from the surveys given out to the
respondents,each criteria was tallied and was divided to the total number tallies of all criteria;
then, the quotient was converted to a percentage by multiplying it to 10.

The parameters used to evaluate the result were the effects of slow internet connection
among online sellers in Pulot Center, Sofronio Espa ñ ola, Palawan. The result of the study
showed that having a slow internet connection have negative effect to the performance of
Online Sellers in Pulot Center, Sofronio Española, Palawan.

Study revealed that connection has a huge impact among them regarding on their selling
performance which lead them to poor sales performance and customer satisfaction as well.

Majority of the respondents are replied and favored that slow internet connection gave
negative outcome to their business and growth potential. They found out that the online sellers
cannot communicate properly to their customers which lead to a customers might abandon their
shopping carts if the checkout process takes too long or if pages fail to load promptly.

CHAPTER I

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUD

Introduction
We all love buying things right? Buying things for ourselves and for others makes us
cheerful. We love going different stores, malls, and markets to look for something that we can
afford to buy but of course we all experience that what we call slothful days. We tend to get
lazy going to malls to buy stuff but then online sellers in our community appeared this makes it
easier for us to buy things nowadays people are insanely addicted to online shopping so this
gives opportunity to people to do online business.

There are many elements that can affect the business of online sellers one of this is by
slow internet connection. Slow internet connection can end up demoralizing employee morale as
it affects their timely delivery of services. This, in return my lead to frustration of the workplace.
When you see your deliverables pile up due to poor internet connection your stress level rises
along with it too. Online sellers relies on internet connection it can also disrupt the everyday
work task of your business.

Providing a great customer experience is critical to the sustainable growth of any


business. Therefore internet connection is an important key for keeping online business
following. With stable internet connection the online sellers can communicate with their buyers
continuously.

Statement of the Problem


1. What is the effect of slow internet connection to the online sellers as to their:
a. Income
b. Uploading product
c. Time of delivery

Significance of the study

This research is made with the aim to provide crucial information and knowledge
regarding the chosen topic from the respondents, recent studies, and other related info that are
needed for the anticipated import to the individuals as follow:
*Online Sellers. This study will help the online seller on how they will overcome their
delayed communication, slow website loading times, and difficulties in managing online
transaction.
*Future Researcher. This study will expand the future researcher’s knowledge by
identifying the specific skills, tools, and strategies that can help sellers navigate challenges
related to slow internet

The primary beneficiaries of the study are the participants who will benefit from the
problem. This study will be the answer to the need for more preparation for online sellers
advancement in response to the demands of its buyers.

A salient contribution of the study is its impact on the online sellers responsibility and
accountability to its customers. This is yet most significant to the researcher from the perspective
of participants fulfillment. Which is the online sellers.

Independent variable- the impact of slow internet connection is the independent variable in the
study because it refers to the delay or latency in internet speed,
Dependent variable- online sellers is the dependent variable because online sellers are the ones
who use the internet to conduct their business.

Scope and Delimitation


This study was conducted at Pulot Center, Sofronio Espanola, Palawan on the month of
March-May 2023.
This study focused on the Impact of slow Internet Connection to the Online Sellers.
Definition of terms
Business- A person’s regular occupation, profession, or trade.
Buyer- A person who makes a purchase
Internet connection- A connection provided by an internet services provider that enables
individual computers.
Online sellers- Somebody who uses digital means to sell their product , goods, or
services to buyers locally and internationally.
Online shopping- A form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly
buy goods or services thru online.
Social media- Website and applications that enable users to create and share content or to
participate in social networking.
Stores- A retail establishment selling items to the public.

including education, business, healthcare, and communication. In this review of related literature,

avoid if you want to established an excellent online presence and boost sales conversion.”

business are certain to get left behind their compititors. A slow and unrealible network can cost
your company money, time, and most importantly your reputation.”

Synthesis
The available literature indicates that slow internet connection has a significant impact on
the performance, customer satisfaction, reputation, operational efficiency, and competitiveness.
However, advancements in technology and the implementation of mitigation strategies oofer
potential solutions to alleviate these challenges. Online seller must recognize the importance of a
realible and fast internet connection to maintain a competitive edge and deliver satisfactory
experience to their customer in the digital marketplace.

CHAPTER III
METHODOLOGY
This chapter presents the methodology of this research such as the method used; locale of
the study; respondents of the study; sampling method used; research instrument; data gathering
procedure; statistical analysis of the data and the validation of the instrument are also included in
this chapter.

Research Design

This study by the means of Quantitative methods of researchers. This is a Descriptive


Method. Relatively, this study involves gathering of data of respondents and interpreting these
data through tables and graphics.

The researchers looked into the online sellers ways of handling their transactions online
despite of having a slow internet connection.

Research Locale

This study was conducted at Pulot Center, Sofonio Española, Palawan. This locale
baranggay was founded in 1995. Pulot Center is a barangay in municipality of Sofronio Española

in the province of Palawan. It’s population as determined by the 2022 census was 7,159. This
represented 19.13% of the total population of Sofronio Española.

Research Participants

The subjects of the study were the 20 selected Online Sellers of Pulot Center, Sofronio
Española. On the other hand the aged 18-30 years old. In order to embody the representatives
sample, the researchers utilized stratified sampling strategy. Stratified sampling is researchers
divide subjects into sub groups called strata based on characteristic they share (www.scribbr.com,
2022). After stratification has been completed the researcher applied fishbowl to randomly select
the participants. To determine the desired sample for the study, Slovin’s Formula n=n/1+ Ne2
was utilized; then (Lauren, 2022) stated to determine the numbers of respondents per sampling
stratum, the proportion principle should be followed.

Research Instrument

Survey questioner regarding the Impact of Slow Internet Connection to the Online Seller
was used to gather data needed in this study. The researcher produced sufficient printed copies of
the questioner to be given to the respondents, each of the categories is composed of 10 question
answered by:

1- Strongly disagree

5- Strongly agree

Data Collection Procedure

The research used questioner in gathering data from the selected online seller in Pulot
Center, Sofronio Española, Palawan. The researcher then collected data by using research
instrument to the respondents, then online seller were given enough time to answer the
questioner.

Data Analysis

The data were collected, tabulated, computed, analyzed, and interpreted using the simple
statistical tools such as frequency counts and means.

The result were analyzed using the mean of each question by category following the scale
below:

CHAPTER V
SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATION

Summary
The study entitled "IMPACT OF SLOW INTERNET CONNECTION TO THE
ONLINE SELLER OF PULOT CENTER, SOFRONIO ESPAÑOLA, PALAWAN" was
conducted on June 2023 at Pulot Center, Sofronio Española, Palawan. This study aimed to find
out the impact of slow internet connection to the online seller.
This research study managed by engaging purposive Sampling with the used of
questionnaires as an instrument in gathering data. A total of 20 respondents were considered in
this study.
The study showed the significant result on the impact of slow internet connection to the
online seller of Pulot Center on their business.
Furthermore, the interpretation of the results indicates that the online seller of Pulot
Center that slow internet connection have the positive and negative effects on their business.
Conclusion
Based on the strong agreement among 20 respondents, it can be concluded that slow
internet connection impacts the business of the online sellers. It hampers productivity, leads to
customer dissatisfaction, causes missed opportunity, and puts sellers at a competitive
disadvantage.
Recommendations
Based on the outcome of study the following recommendations are given:
1. The causes of slow internet connection should be determined because it has significant role to
the success of the online sellers.
2. Online seller should prioritize addressing and improving their internet connection to mitigate
these negative effects and ensure the smooth operation of their business
3. The next researcher may use this study for further research.
