I live in Barabgay Bubog. As far as I can remember, bubog is from the "bubog" or "calumpang"
tree (Sterculia foetida). It is said to be abundant in our Barangay, has broad branches, and
provides shade during the day. Our barangay is surrounded by the said tree. and later on, the
government started calling or naming our barangay after the tree. Bubog is a barangay in the
municipality of San Jose, in the province of Occidental Mindoro. Our barangay population
According to the 2020 Census data, its population was 10,792. This represented 7.04% of San
Jose's total population. Bubog's household population in the 2015 Census was 9,342, divided into
2,171 households, with an average of 4.30 members per household.

Barangay Bubog has a lot of growing establishments. We sure have resorts, schools,
gymnasiums, a salt farm, and farm land that is kind of wide.Fishing and farming provide a living
for our community. Bubog is a vibrant and lively community filled with hospitable and
welcoming locals.

As you enter Bubog, you will immediately notice the lush greenery that surrounds the village. The
towering trees and verdant fields make for a refreshing sight, especially for those who come from the
bustling cities. The air is clean and fresh, with a gentle breeze that caresses your skin.

One of the main attractions of Bubog is its beautiful beach. The powdery sand and crystal-clear
waters are a sight to behold. The beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or simply lounging
around while enjoying the stunning scenery. The locals are also more than happy to take visitors on
boat rides around the coast, allowing you to explore the beauty of the ocean and the surrounding
islands.

Apart from the beach, Bubog is also known for its rice fields. The rice paddies, with their rows of tall,
green stalks swaying in the breeze, are a testament to the hard work of the local farmers. Visitors can
witness the traditional farming methods still being practiced, including the use of carabaos to plow
the fields. The sight is truly a picturesque scene that is a feast for the eyes.
