G. STUDENT ASSESSMENT PLAN

The Student Assessment Policy (UoN/AA-002/POL/V1/2014) and its related procedures are essential
components of UoN teaching and learning. It sets out the principles and framework for student academic
assessment. Students must be aware of the policy that is applied across all units in the University.

H. STUDENT ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT
The University Policy UoN/AA-007/POL/V3/2021covers the procedures to be followed and penalties to be meted out
in cases of proven plagiarism and breach of examination regulations. Examples of academic misconduct are:
a. Copy any other student’s work;
b. Duplicate any section of another person’s work;
c. Summarize the work of any other person;
d. Use an idea or thesis from another person’s work;
e. Outsource assignment, assessment component or any academic work;
f. Impersonate someone by taking their examination;
g. Take experimental data or results gathered by another person and claim it as your own;
h. Resort to cheating at some stage of the exam; and
i. Take someone’s work and translate to another language for the purpose of reducing similarity detection.

Students must familiarize themselves with this policy which is applied across all units in the University.

I.  STUDENT ATTENDANCE AND EXCUSED ABSENCE

For the purpose of fulfilling blended learning, the following attendance and excused absence scheme is adopted from
the University Student Attendance and Excused Absence Policy (UON/AA-001/POL/V1/2013) and the University
Guidelines for e-Learning.

“Absentee Warning” notice will be issued to a student according to:

1. “Absence Warning 1”: for unexcused absence of 5% of course's total contact hours per semester.
2. “Absence Warning 2”: for unexcused absence of 10% of course's total contact hours per semester.
3. “Drop one Grade and Absence Warning 3”: for unexcused absence of 15% of course's contact hours per
semester.
4. “Barred from obtaining a final grade”: for excused and unexcused absence of 25% of course's contact hours per
semester.

Attendance shall be taken during the lecture. The student who does not attend any on-campus/online lecture shall be
considered absent.
