Compliance Time : Recommended within the next one hundred (100)

hours of operation or at the next scheduled
inspection/maintenance .

Purpose :

This Service Release announces availability of a redesigned Nose Gear Fork Assembly
Kit which improves handling characteristics and greatly reduces the tendency to shimmy.
The Kit includes a new Fork and Piston Tube Assembly and material required to install
it into the existing Strut Housing.

Instructions:

Material and Instructions are contained in Improved Nose Gear Fork Installation Kit,
Piper Part No. 764 213.

Material Required:

One (1) each per aircraft Improved Nose Gear Fork Installation Kit, Piper Part
Number 764 213.

NOTE : Nose Gear Internal Stop Installation Kit, Piper Part Number
764 007 (Reference Service Bulletin 676, dated June 5, 1980)
must be installed prior to or in conjunction with Kit 764 213.
