HOT-TAP TIE-IN POINT 05 INSTALLATION WORK FOR NEW BOG PROJECHOT-TAP


RESCUE PLAN FOR HOT TAP OF 36” FLARE HEADER – P51.B_62551 TO
HANDLE FLARE FROM THE NEW BOIL OFF GAS FACILITY.
Permit is confined space due to newly required welding booth to contain sparks during cutting, grinding, and
welding activities.

Possible Potential Scenarios: Fire and injury to personnel and equipment while caring out grinding
and welding job during the HOT-TAP at ROAD H&G BY OLD FLARE U-6200.

Aim: To provide a plan to enable Involved person to be safely removed from the work area and Conveyed
to the ambulance

Objectives: To ensure that nominated personnel are competent in the methods of casualty rescue and
in use of rescue equipment.

RESCUE PLAN
Equipment Required: 1 x Basket Stretcher, 1 x First-Aid Kit, 3pcs Fall Arrestor, 4x30M Rescue line and
appropriate fire extinguisher.

Personnel: Minimum number of 4 (2 at the top and 2 at the bottom of stretcher) 1 Medic to ensure
Involved person is carried in the correct manner, should they have spinal injuries. There must be a least 1
first aider

Method:
 Casualty to be carefully placed into the stretcher under supervision of Medic
 Ensure casualty is securely strapped into the stretcher
 Rescue line to be secured to the top/leg of the stretcher unless otherwise instructed by Medic
 The stretcher will be lowered down by two personnel at the upper scaffold platform, while the two other
personnel will guide the stretcher with the rescue lines on both top/leg of the stretcher from swinging.
 Both personnel on the platform or grinding point must secure the stretcher and hoisting ropes firmly sling round
the platform railings before hoisting.
 Before hoisting ensures no slips or free-fall.
 IP should be safely carried into the ambulance as directed by the medic
 Drive IP to site clinic/RA Hospital as required by the medic.

Note: This method to be practiced by personnel who are likely to be nominated as stretcher
bearers

Rescue Methodology:
