Participating in the Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session on March 24, 2022, was
an invaluable experience that provided me with valuable insights and practical
knowledge on two critical topics: "FLAT (Functional Literacy Assessment Tool)
Materials Implementation" and "DLL (Daily Lesson Log) Preparation." As a dedicated
teacher at FB Elementary School, I have always been committed to improving my
teaching methodologies, and this session has undoubtedly played a significant role in
furthering that goal.

The first part of the session focused on the implementation of the FLAT
materials. I learned that the FLAT is a powerful tool designed to assess and enhance the
functional literacy skills of our students. It was enlightening to understand that
functional literacy goes beyond basic reading and writing, encompassing the practical
application of these skills in real-life situations. The FLAT materials provided during
the session were well-structured and aligned with the curriculum, making them
effective tools for evaluating our students' literacy progress.

Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, I gained a deeper

understanding of how to administer the FLAT materials efficiently. I appreciated the
emphasis on conducting the assessment in a learner-centered manner, ensuring that our
students feel comfortable and motivated to showcase their abilities. Moreover, the
facilitator shared various strategies to interpret the results of the assessment accurately.
Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of our students' functional literacy skills
will allow us to tailor our teaching approaches to address their specific needs better.

I am eager to implement the FLAT materials in my classroom and integrate them

into my teaching practices. By doing so, I am confident that I can contribute to the
improvement of my students' functional literacy and equip them with essential skills
they can apply in their daily lives.

The second part of the LAC session focused on DLL preparation, which I found
to be equally beneficial for my professional growth. The facilitator emphasized the
importance of meticulous planning and organization in creating effective daily lesson
logs. As teachers, our DLLs serve as roadmaps for our daily classroom activities, and
proper preparation is key to ensuring a seamless and purposeful learning experience for
our students.

During the session, we were guided through the process of crafting well-
structured DLLs that aligned with the curriculum and learning objectives. The
facilitator also provided useful tips on incorporating active learning strategies,
formative assessments, and technology integration within our lesson plans. I found the
emphasis on creating student-centered DLLs particularly impactful, as it encourages
active student participation and engagement.

Furthermore, the collaborative aspect of the LAC session allowed us to share our
own experiences and challenges in DLL preparation. Hearing insights from my fellow
educators broadened my perspective and enriched my understanding of effective
teaching practices.

As I reflect on the LAC session, I am motivated to refine my approach to DLL

preparation. I am inspired to be more innovative in my lesson planning, utilizing a
diverse range of teaching strategies to cater to the varying learning styles and needs of
my students. I also recognize the importance of continuous reflection and assessment of
my teaching methods to ensure their effectiveness.

In conclusion, the Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session on "FLAT Materials

Implementation and DLL Preparation" was an enriching experience that has left a
lasting impact on my teaching journey. I am grateful to FB Elementary School for
organizing this opportunity for professional development and to the facilitators for
their dedication in imparting valuable knowledge.

As I move forward, I am committed to implementing the FLAT materials in my

classroom and creating well-crafted DLLs that foster a conducive and engaging learning
environment. I firmly believe that these efforts will contribute to the holistic
development of my students and enable them to thrive academically and beyond.
