DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF LABORATORY
PERSONNEL

A. PATHOLOGIST 
 Head of the laboratory.
 Oversees the whole laboratory operations.
 Reports to the management any inconsistencies, additional requirements and
other pertinent issues with respect to the laboratory.
 Presides and conducts laboratory staff meeting.
 Performs other Medical Technologist duties and functions.

B. MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST 
  Receives, performs specimen and documents according to the needed
laboratory examinations.(Hematology, Chemistry, Clinical Microscopy,
Serology)
 Do all laboratory examination/Drug testing analysis accurately and timely.
 Endorses laboratory results to the receptionist or to the requesting patient.
 Responsible for all laboratory assets, supplies and cleanliness as well as
housekeeping of the laboratory.
 Attend seminars relevant to profession.

C.  LABORATORY AIDE
 Responsible for cleaning, sanitizing and housekeeping. (sweeping, mopping,
cleaning and disinfecting laboratory instrument and apparatus, garbage
disposal, after care.)
 Assists the Medical Technologist in the Laboratory works. ( collecting
laboratory requests.)
 Instructs client in proper collection of specimen and assists in the preparation
of specimen for analysis.
 Releases result to patient.
 Assists in documentation and recording of results and in the preparation of
monthly reports.
