1. a) In my opinion, the optical biosensor is better. This is because the device can operate without
the need for substantial sample preparations or pre-treatment or huge sample quantities. The
optical biosensor is also highly specialized for real-time analysis in complicated mixtures. Since
we are working with a biological sample it is better to get real-time results compared to waiting
for a long time like other biosensors as over time biological samples might degenerate or
undergo changes.

b) The biosensor's capacity to hybridise with fresh DNA samples is improved by washing it. It
also slows the breakdown of the surface. It was also necessary to avoid single-strand DNA
reannealing and optimise target DNA hybridization.

d) Interferents are compounds that can be present in a sample and cause the substance we're
trying to analyse to be overestimated or underestimated. These substances are frequently
structurally related to the protein or molecule of interest, and they interact with test reagents in
similar ways, resulting in positive interference or overestimation.
