Task 1. What is missing in each of the two sentences below? Fill in the blanks to make full sentences.
All sentences MUST include these two things. You need a subject (who) and a predicate (verb +
information about the subject). Sentences MUST express a complete thought. Sentences always begin
with a CAPTIAL LETTER and end with a FULL STOP.
Task 2. Identify the subject and verb in the following SIMPLE sentences. Circle the subject in each
sentence and underline the verb.
Fatima takes the Writing 2 class. She learns* about simple sentences. She writes five
paragraph essays. She makes mistakes. Fatima corrects her mistakes. She learns from her
mistakes. She does not make the same mistakes again. Her final essay is perfect!
