A life lesson from a volunteer firefighter

Mark Bezos is a volunteer firefighter, talking about his experience. He
tells the audience that in order to get into some action when you arrive at the fire
scene, you have to be among the first ones there.
This one time he arrived the second to help a woman in the middle of the
night whose house was on fire. The woman was barefoot and outside was
raining. Mark got the task to bring the woman a pair of shoes meanwhile, the
first volunteer had to save her dog. Mark was jealous on the first volunteer but
he still brought back the pair of shoes.
A few weeks later he received a letter from the woman thanking the
firefighters for their help, and gave special praise to the one who got her a pai of
shoes.
The moral of the story is that small acts of kindness can mean just as
much as big ones and that people shouldn’t wait when it comes to helping
others. Mark emphasizes the fact that you don’t have to be a millionaire to help
those around you and to make small acts of kindness.
As far as I am concerned, I totally agree with the message that Mark tried
to give to his audience. Mark said “Not every day offers us a chance to save a
person's life, but everyday gives an opportunity to affect one.”, and I think that
this quote should be the guideline of our words and actions.
