Topic: Coping With Stressful Situations ( Anger Management)

Duration: 60 minutes

General Objectives: Students will be able to

1. Generate knowledge of how to effectively deal with difficult situations.


2. Appreciate the importance of managing emotions.
3. Use coping and cognitive skills to manage feelings of hurt.
Specific Objectives: Students will be able to

(Knowledge)

Identify at least one emotion associated with hurtful situations.

Analyze their feelings about hurtful situations.

Work with their peers to create an environment in which students treat each other resp

ectfully.

(Skills)

Communicate their feelings and choices and develop ways to deal with difficult
situations.

Develop strategies for dealing with hurtful behavior.

Content: Summary: Stress situations can create health problems and affects relationships .I t is
necessary to understand these feelings and try to resolve them.

Coping skills can be developed and used to deal with adverse and high risk situations

Students will be asked ;

1) What could have caused the fight between the individuals?


2) What impact the fight had on the person there?
3) If it was you what would have you done based on the response to number one question

Explore Students will be given an index card to write about one hurtful incident that has
happened to them, making sure students in the class don't recognize themselves in the
descriptions, tell students to try to keep the descriptions as general as possible. For example,
instead of writing, "I was very hurt when I wasn't invited to the Valentine's Day party," have
them write, "I felt very hurt when I was not invited to a party with many of my friends. No
names must be place on their index cards

Explain: Students will discuss ways in which we could help others who are feeling these
emotions.

Elaborate: Working in groups, each group will be given a sheet of paper to write sentences on
how they would react positively or negatively to a scenario given.

Evaluate: Each students will present a short skit to the class based on what they wrote. Students
will use their phone or tablets to capture the

skits for future viewing.

1. To send and interpret verbal and non verbal messages accurately and effectively
2. To evaluate listening habits and practice effective listening skills to understand how and
why relationship develop
3. To understand how and why relationship develop

Specific Objectives: Students will be able to

1. Discuss and explain what is interpersonal relationship


2. Identify what are good interpersonal relationship
3. Express himself/ herself in ways that demonstrate smart and safe interpersonal relationship
4. In groups participate in activities that will bring out interpersonal relationship

Content: Summary: Interpersonal relationship is the ongoing interactions between people that
involve the mutual fulfilment of both party’s needs. A key characteristic of interpersonal
relationship is that they involve self-disclosure, or the sharing of personal and intimate
information about oneself. Interpersonal intelligence involves the ability to work cooperatively
with others in a group as well as the ability to communicate, verbally and non-verbally , with
other people. To develop and maintain effective relationship with others; relates well to people
from varied backgrounds and in different situations , shows understanding , courtesy, empathy,
concern and politeness. Relates to people in an open friendly and professional manner.

Explore Students will work in pairs to tell their partner ways of protecting each other and carry
out activities that shows good friendship

Explain: Students will determine some activities that are considered to be good interpersonal
relationship, also identify some activities that are bad interpersonal relationships.

Elaborate: Create a colour poster that encourages students to think smart and the feelings of
others

Evaluate: Students will be given a worksheet to identify, tell and review interpersonal
relationships. Students will be guided to answer questions to conclude what is interpersonal
relationship and how to be smart in their surroundings.
