Neeraj Churi (Director)

Neeraj Churi started Lotus Visual Productions for the sole purpose of producing and
promoting South Asian LGBTQ+ films worldwide, realizing the limited opportunities
available to the community to bring their stories to the screen. He has produced fiction and
documentary films in India and the UK. He helps promote South Asian queer cinema by
organizing theatrical screenings in the UK and curating film festivals and corporate
screenings. He was recently on the jury panel for a grant given by Tasveer Film Festival in
Seattle, USA, towards making a South Asian LGBTQ+ focused short film and mentoring the
same project. He has also helped curate the LGBTQ+ program segment for the London
Indian Film Festival.

He was recently invited to the advisory board of the Samabhav traveling film festival
organized by Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA) organization for gender and
sexuality sensitization. He is an alumnus of the New York film academy. He also holds
degrees in Information science management with extensive experience managing multi-
million-dollar projects with top-tier financial institutions in NY and London. He has been
selected by the British Film Institute to be part of 2023 delegation to the European Film
Market at the Berlin Film Festival to be held in February 2023. His first feature film was
recently selected at the Cannes film Market as part of NFDC Goes to Cannes and will have
its US premiere at the SWSX in USA. His second feature in development, selected for
Venice Biennale College Cinema 2022 Residency, NFDC Film Bazaar 2022 and Film
London Production Finance Market, will be a part of British Film Institute at Berlinale EFM
cohort.
