2.2 FORESEEN USE

The Bucket Crusher is used for crushing and reducing the volume of demolition material.
For this reason, it should be specified the machine may be used to crush hard material such
as granite or porphyry providing the dimensions are less than 50% of the crusher’s inlet (vedi
fig. - 2.0) ; you should be aware that wear to the jaws and all consumable components will be
considerably greater; for the purposes of jaw duration, wet material is not recommended.
For the demolition of material with normal hardness, the size must be 30% less than the
crusher’s inlet (verdi fig - 2.0).
If the above stated indications are not verified, considerable problems may occur with the
wedge locks and on the parts adjacent to the jaws.
If these materials are crushed in a continuous manner, also the overall structure of the bucket
will be considerably strained and it is obvious that in both of the above mentioned cases,
Meccanica Breganzese will not be in any way liable.
The machine may be used on:

• Machine tools (Excavators etc.) that meet the specifications specified in the previous point
2.1.

2.3 UNFORESEEN USE

The Bucket Crusher is not foreseen for other uses not indicated in paragraph 2.2.
In particular, it is prohibited to crush inflammable or explosive material or material that could
generate inflammable, explosive, toxic or noxious powder.
It is prohibited to use the Bucket Crusher in environments with a potentially explosive at-
mosphere.

ATTENTION !
Meccanica Breganzese S.r.l. does not take on any liability in the case of harm to people
and/or property due to unforeseen uses of the Bucket Crusher by the customer or a third
party.

4.3 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM CONNECTION

The Bucket Crusher is operated using the hydraulic circuit present on the machine tool on
which it is applied.
Figure 4-01 shows the connection points for the hydraulic pipes.
Reference 1 shows the connection for the flexible ø 1’’ delivery pipe with suitable characte-
ristics for supporting an operating pressure of 250 bars.
Reference 2 shows the connection for the flexible ø 1’’ return pipe with suitable characteri-
stics for supporting a pressure of 50 bars.
The unions on the three different Bucket Crusher models are 1’’ gas (BSPP) both on the
delivery line as well as on the return line.
For excavators with opposite delivery, the flexible pipes can be inverted on the unions 3 and
4; then remove the pipe on the sub-casing union no. 3 (see figure 4-02) and position it on
the sub-casing union no. 4 (see figure 4-02).
Carry out the opposite procedure for pipe no. 4.

ATTENTION !
Check that the hydraulic pipes used for the connection meet the specifications required
by the standard EN 982.

ATTENTION !
During the operation of inverting the flexible tubes on unions 3 and 4, make sure that the
system is free of oil; otherwise, collect any leaks using specific containers.

5.3.5 OIL FLOW RATE ADJUSTMENT

Oil flow rate regulator adjustment

The Bucket Crusher is calibrated to a shaft rotation speed of 300 rpm loadless;
while working, this speed may need to be changed to reach optimal machine operation
and less vibration.
The adjustment flywheel is shown in the following figure.

Page 35 di 50 CAP. 5.0

BF 60.1 - BF 70.2 - BF 90.3 - BF 120.4

To change the shaft rotation speed, proceed as follows:

• To increase the rotation speed, turn the flywheel in a counter-clockwise direction;

• To decrease the rotation speed, turn the flywheel in a clockwise direction;
• To change the speed, turn the flywheel a 1/4 turn;
• Once the adjustment phase is complete, block the flywheel with the locking ring nut.

To prevent tampering with the valve flow rates and, as a result, with the hydrau-
lic system’s operating pressure, the control valves have been lead sealed.

ATTENTION !
It is absolutely prohibited to tamper with the safety lead-seals. In the case of tampering,
Meccanica Breganzese S.r.l. is not responsible for any breakdowns or damage to proper-
ty or injury to persons.

CAP. 5.0 Page 36 di 50

BF 60.1 - BF 70.2 - BF 90.3 - BF 120.4

Normally, the oil delivery does not require any adjustment.

However, if for any reason the quantity of oil that arrives from the machine tool is greater
or less than the optimal required amount, small adjustments are permitted to increase or
decrease within the limits of the lead seal slack.
These limits must not be exceeded forcing the lead seal itself.

If during machine operation the operator notices oil escaping from the discharge pipe, this
means that the backpressure in the excavator system exceeds 10 bars.
In this case, check that the oil discharge (return) system on the excavator is not damaged
and check the filter on the machines, if present.

Page 37 di 50 CAP. 5.0

Belt tension adjustment

Before adjusting or checking the belt, the operator must position the Bucket Crusher so that
the upper side the of the belt is located horizontally to the bearing plane.
Following the sequence indicated below:

Remove the fastening screws from the protective casing and

remove the casing.

Loosen the screws on the support unit.

Act on the screws to carry out belt tensioning.

Check that the same number of turns were made on both
screws.
Once adjustment is complete, block the fastening screws on
the support.

The belt is correctly tensioned when a perpendicular load of 25 kg is placed in the middle
between the two pulley axes and a flexion (arrow f) of 10 mm. is obtained.
See the following figure.

CAP. 5.0 Page 38 di 50

BF 60.1 - BF 70.2 - BF 90.3 - BF 120.4

If when the Bucket Crusher is operated, the belt starts to slide on the motor pulley or on
the flywheel, it means that the tensioning was not done properly; therefore, repeat the
above listed operations.
At this point, slowly turn the belt in order to check its operation with the flywheel.

Check that the transmission belt is well aligned.

ATTENTION !
While checking the belt rotation, the operator must maintain a safe distance from the
machine.

Once the adjustment and control operations are complete,

the operator must restore the protective casings before using
the machine.
