7 Sacraments

1. Baptism

By the Sacrament of Baptism, one is led the way out of the Kingdom of death into life; it is the
gateway to the Church, and the beginning of a lasting communion with God.
2. Confirmation

Confirmation is the sacrament that completes Baptism; in it the gift of the Holy Spirit is
bestowed upon us. In Confirmation, the soul of a baptized Christian is imprinted with a
permanent seal that can be received only once and marks this individual forever as a Christian
and acts as a “witness” for Christ. It is normally administered by the Bishop
3. Eucharist

Holy Eucharist is the Sacrament in which Jesus Christ gives his Body and Blood- himself-for us,
so that we too might give ourselves to him in love and be united with him in Holy Communion.
In this way we are joined with the one Body of Christ, the church. It is “the source and summit
of the Christian life” (cf. LG n.11)
4. The Sacrament of Reconciliation/Penance

The Sacrament of Penance washes and cleanses the soul from the grave weight of sin.
Forgiveness renews the person. It makes the person accept new life, giving the soul new grace
and strength with the eternal mercy of God.
5. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick

This sacrament unites the sick person with the suffering Christ, one receives the gift (healing of
soul) from the Holy Spirit.
6. The Sacrament of Holy Orders

This sacrament is conferred to one for Ordination to the ministerial priesthood. He receives the
gift of the Holy Spirit which gives him a sacred authority which Christ bestows upon him
through the bishop
7. The Sacrament of Matrimony

This sacrament comes through the promise made by a man and woman before God and the
Church as well. This bond of sacramental marriage is formed by the couple with consent and
freely, without impediment is binding until death. It has at its core the aim of service for the
good of the spouses and for the procreation and education of children.
