She describes herself as a walking miracle,
emphasizing her ability to defy death. It's also
about Plath's behavior in her previous suicide
attempts and her mental change before her third
death

The poem is divided into three - line stanzas
or tercets There is no rhyme scheme or
metrical scheme in the poem, but there are
many repeated rhymes.

Figures of Speech
Metaphors: Lady Lazarus considers herself as
the phoenix and the man eater.
Imagery : She uses vivid imagery to convey
her experience of death and rebirth.
Symbolisms
The Holocaust: The poet herself struggled
with her identity as a jew
The Bible: The Lazarus in the Bible was
resurrected by Jesus that connects to the
themes of rebirth..
