Big Book

Guidelines, Mechanics, and Criteria


1. The theme, “Travel Through Reading: A Celebration of Culture and Diversity” will
be used as the theme for grade levels’ Big Book.
2. There will be 1 (one) entry per section.
3. This will be the class’s final output for the 4th quarter.
4. Each Big Book Shall follow the guidelines and mechanics and the materials below:

GUIDELINES/MECHANICS
A. Learners shall make an original story based on the given theme.
B. It is highly encouraged to promote original, unique, and catchy story.
C. Learners can do the Big Book inside and outside the school without compromising
other’s subject areas.
D. The Big Book must be done, finished and final after classes on June 26, Monday.
E. Learners can put or draw pictures and illustration to the Big Book.
F. Font size and style are free to be used by the learners.
G. Letterings and drawings can be printed or hand-written/drawn.
H. Any final touches on the Big Book after classes on June 26, Monday will have a
deduction of 10 points to the total score.
MATERIALS
A. 2 pcs. ¼ illustration board (for front and back cover)
B. 8 pcs. any colored Cartolina (for the Big Book Pages)
C. Glue (stick, liquid or paste)
D. Plastic cover for the front and back cover
E. Any additional designs and embellishments are allowed.
CRITERIA
A. Originality (Story is originally and uniquely fresh) 40%
B. Creativity (Cleanliness, innovation, and craftsmanship) 40 %
C. Organization (Story is well-plotted and can be understood) 20%
