The public and the private benefit of law

Question: X university has so many senior high school students, the parents of senior
hs student would like to know the grades of student, but the students oppose it, is
because it’s part of their data privacy right, if you were the administrator would you
allowed the parents to know the grades of the students who already attain the age of 18
years old, or will you get the consent from the students?

Answer: If I am the school administrator I will allow the parents to know the grades of
the student because they are also under the policy of the school, and the grades of the
student is considered under the policy of the school and not only the private data of the
student.

Since the students are still under the administrative supervision and policy of our
school, they should abide with the bylaws of the school, and the grades of the students
can be access by their parents without their consent even if they are not minors.
