Series 4000 C01 – Optional fuel pre filter

Since fuel quality can vary based on location MTU recommends installing an additional fuel
pre filter, before the low pressure fuel pump, in mining vehicles using the Series 4000 C01
engine.

This additional fuel pre filter is intended to protect the low pressure fuel pump from premature
wear and failure caused by dirt and water contamination.

MTU offers the following fuel pre filter options from the factory:

Fuel pre filter Standard FBO-14-DD-25F (25 micron)

(with water Part number: X52808300002
separator) Replacement filter element 25 micron: P/N 23535322
Optional* FBO-14-DD-10F (10 micron)
Part number: X52608300018
Replacement filter element 10 micron: P/N XP52608300021
* The use of 10 micron pre filters (FBO-14-DD-10F) is recommended if fuel contains
high amounts of biological contamination (algae, bacteria).
Pre filters FBO-14-DD-25F and FBO-14-DD-10F are using the same filter housing and
can be converted easily (e.g. 25 micron to 10 micron configuration) by changing the
filter element.
