No, my parents have never shared a photo of me that I wish they hadn't.

Thankfully, they've
always been respectful of my privacy and have asked for my input before posting any pictures
of me on social media.

On one hand, I think sharenting can be a fun and lighthearted way for parents to document
their child's growth and share moments with family and friends.
In my opinion, whether parents should ask for their child's consent before posting a picture on
social media depends on the situation.

Sharenting may be a way to connect and engage with others in their online community.
However, on the other hand, sharenting can also raise concerns about a child's privacy and
consent. As a teenager, I believe that parents should definitely consider their child's feelings
and opinions before posting anything about them online. It's important to remember that
what's shared on the internet can have a lasting impact, and children might not want their
entire lives documented without their consent.
For younger children who might not fully understand the implications of sharing online, parents
should take on the responsibility of making those decisions. As the child grows older, their input
and consent should play a larger role. Ultimately, I think a balance needs to be struck between
the desire to share and the respect for a child's privacy. This is a complex issue that involves
personal values, cultural norms, and legal considerations. Regulators and platforms should
definitely play a role in establishing guidelines to ensure that children's rights and privacy are
protected in the digital age.
