Why might people believe and spread stereotypes?
We as individuals may believe in stereotypes because they can help make sense of the
world. We as humans need to categorize everything and by doing such groups become
more identifiable.

Why are certain groups in a community or society more subject to stereotypes?

Certain groups become stereotypes because of social categorization. Depending on

how bigger groups act, then they are immediately labeled by society, creating
“stereotypes”.

Why are stereotypes dangerous? How do they affect both the targeted groups and
the wider community?
Stereotyping never gives the full image, and by stereotyping certain groups we are
assuming that everyone within those groups follows the same characteristic.
Oftentimes these stereotypes may lead to discrimination.

In your experience, what groups are subject to stereotypes and prejudice?

Minorities are most likely to become subject to stereotypes and prejudice because it
is not the “norm” to act the way they do, immediately putting a label on their “unusual
behavior”.
