accomplishment. The abacus math revolution has been responsible for a strong math foundation and better
learning skills for most kids in Asia. We at Abacus Brain Gym have worked hard to enhance your learning
experience with the whole set of conditions that contribute to a successful end result. For matching your
intellectual preferences, please make sure you review the Abacus Videos and the Abacus Explorer
software available to increase the speed of your learning result.
Across the world children have entered a passionate and enduring love for the abacus math. What is
Abacus Mental Math? Millions of students learn math in a very concrete way....on an abacus. Believe it or
not, this ancient tool and the abacus program work in a way that complements the neurological wiring in a
child's brain. If the transmitters in the brain can fire at over 200 mph, why not use this speed to ramp up
your ability to calculate? It builds mental calculation skills, while increasing interest and confidence in math
and also the overall brain power.
This Abacus Math book focuses on one aspect. Math is the key to opportunity and brain power is everything
to make life a lot easier especially when it comes to a long academic journey. Understanding the concept of
numbers and building a strong foundation in math will be crucial to shape an amazing future. We hope this
Abacus Math book will redefine the journey of your math experience.
Are you ready for the excitement? We welcome you to join our Hall of Fame for free when you purchase
the Abacus Explorer software. You will build a strong competition skill by submitting your homework online
to Hall of Fame Championship and your motivation will never run out. You can also win prizes by joining our
Hall of Fame! SEE YOU AT THE TOP!
If you are inspired to help us teach the abacus math to the children in your area, please

Education! You will be amazed with how rewarding this whole experience is to your life.

Ms. Abacus: There is no largest number! Because you can pick any big number you can think of and you can make
it a bigger one just by adding 1 to it. People used to think that the biggest number is INFINITY and
the symbol is ∞, however, INFINITy is just a concept that refers to a quantity that has no end, it
goes on and on...

In order to help us solve problems faster, we have to memorize a new rule. When
we cannot apply a SIMPLE rule, we have to call our FRIENDS for help. However,in
this case FRIENDS rule doesn’t help either, because 9 doesn’t have a friend.
Since we are running out of friends, this time we are going to call our RELATIVES.
Let’s get to know our RELATIVES first!

No, 5 doesn’t have a Friend. Next, can we call
RELATIVES to help? Yes, 5’s Relative is 5. rule to help us and it is
called “RELATIVES
Minus”.
The upper bead is not down on the beam to do SIMPLE (-5 Finger UP). When SIMPLE
doesn’t help, we will call FRIENDS. However 5 doesn’t have a FRIEND, so we will call
RELATIVES next, 5 has a RELATIVE which is also 5. We would have to borrow some
bead from the next column that is big enough for us to accomplish the task. If we
borrow 1 lower bead on the next column to the left, it will be 10 points. We have to
add 5 back because we only need to minus 5. ( -5 = -10 + 5).
